Ingredients
- 1 kg ripe kiwis (not overripe)
- 150 g sugar
- 200 g water
Instructions
- Prepare the Kiwis
Peel the kiwis and cut them in half. - Make the Syrup
In a pot, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a boil. - Cook the Kiwis
Add the kiwis to the boiling syrup and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Test with a fork to see if they have softened. If not, cook for a little longer. - Cool and Store
Once the kiwis are ready, remove the pot from the heat. Transfer the kiwis and syrup to a bowl and allow to cool completely. Store in the refrigerator. - Long-Term Storage
For extended preservation, place the hot compote into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
Line the bottom of a large pot with a clean cloth, place the jars upside down, and add water to cover them completely. Boil for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the jars, let them cool slightly, and tighten the lids securely. Store in a cool, dry place or in the refrigerator.
