- 1 kg yellow mirabelle plums
- 100 g sugar
- 200 g water
Instructions
- Prepare the Plums
Wash the plums thoroughly and remove their stems. - Make the Syrup
In a pot, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. - Cook the Plums
Add the plums to the syrup and cook until their skins start to burst. - Peel the Plums
Use a slotted spoon to remove the plums and let them cool slightly in a tray. Peel off their skins. - Store the Compote
Place the peeled plums in a bowl and pour the syrup over them. Store in the refrigerator. - For Long-Term Storage
- Transfer the plums and syrup into sterilized jars.
- Place a clean cloth at the bottom of a pot, arrange the jars upside down on top, and cover them with water.
- Boil the jars for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the jars, tighten the lids once they’ve cooled slightly, and store in the fridge or a cool place.
