Ingredients

  • 20 yellow cherry plums
  • 3 apricots
  • ½ liter tsipouro (a Greek grape distillate)
  • 350 g sugar
  • 6 whole cloves

Instructions

  1. Prep the Fruit:
    Wash the fruit well, pit them, and cut into small pieces. Place the pieces into a large glass jar.
  2. Mix & Infuse:
    Pour in the tsipouro, add the cloves and sugar. Seal the jar and place it in a sunny spot for 1 month. Shake the jar occasionally to help the sugar dissolve and the flavors blend beautifully.
  3. Strain & Bottle:
    After one month, strain the mixture through a muslin cloth (or a fine filter) into a bowl. Then, transfer your liqueur into sterilized glass bottles.
  4. Let it Rest:
    Allow it to sit for one more week in a cool, shaded place. After this short waiting period, your golden-hued liqueur is ready to be enjoyed.
