Ingredients
- 6 Packham’s Triumph pears
- 900 g tsipouro, cognac, or vodka
- 850 g sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Prepare the Pears:
Wash the pears and slice them. Place the slices into a large glass jar, then add the sugar and the chosen spirit (tsipouro, cognac, or vodka). - Infuse & Wait:
Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, shaded place for 40 days. Shake the jar occasionally to help dissolve the sugar and blend the flavors. - Add Lemon & Strain:
After 40 days, open the jar and pour in the lemon juice. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth, pressing well to extract every drop of luscious liquid. Strain once more for extra clarity. - Bottle & Mature:
Transfer the filtered liqueur into sterilized glass bottles. Let it rest for one more week to settle and develop its full aroma and taste.
