Homemade summer fig liqueur tastes like late-summer sun—lush, silky, and fragrant. This summer fig liqueur glows with honeyed depth and gentle warmth. Finally, summer fig liqueur is perfect for slow evenings, cocktails, or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 800 g fresh figs, peeled
  • 500 g sugar
  • 800 g tsipouro (Greek pomace brandy)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Figs:
Wash the figs thoroughly, cut them in half, and place them in a large, sterilized jar.
  2. Add Sugar & Spirit:
Pour in the tsipouro and add the sugar. Seal the jar tightly.
  3. Sun-Kissed Infusion:
Place the jar in direct sunlight for 30 days. Shake it daily to help dissolve the sugar and ensure the flavors meld beautifully.
  4. Strain & Store:
After 30 days, strain the mixture through a muslin cloth or fine strainer to remove any seeds. Transfer the liqueur into impeccably sterilized bottles, seal them up, and store in a cool, dark place.
