Ingredients

  • 300g cooked giant beans
  • 200ml beer
  • 150g self-raising flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Oregano
  • Olive oil

Instructions for the Beans

  1. Soak the Beans
Place the giant beans in a pot of water and leave them to soak overnight.
  2. Cook the Beans
In the morning, transfer the beans to a pressure cooker, cover with water, and cook for 25–30 minutes until tender.
Once cooked, drain the beans in a colander and set them aside.

Preparing the Batter and Frying

  1. Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, beer, salt, pepper, oregano, and sweet paprika.
Stir well to create a thick batter.
  2. Coat the Beans
Add the cooked beans to the batter, ensuring each bean is well coated.
  3. Fry the Beans
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over high heat until hot.
Fry the beans one by one in the hot oil for 2–3 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  4. Drain and Serve
Remove the fried beans from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

These crispy fried giant beans are an irresistible snack or side dish, packed with flavor and a delightful crunch. The beer batter adds a light, airy coating that pairs perfectly with the tender beans inside. Serve them warm and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon. Bon appétit!
