Ingredients
- 300g cooked giant beans
- 200ml beer
- 150g self-raising flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- Oregano
- Olive oil
Instructions for the Beans
- Soak the Beans
Place the giant beans in a pot of water and leave them to soak overnight. - Cook the Beans
In the morning, transfer the beans to a pressure cooker, cover with water, and cook for 25–30 minutes until tender.
Once cooked, drain the beans in a colander and set them aside.
Preparing the Batter and Frying
- Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, beer, salt, pepper, oregano, and sweet paprika.
Stir well to create a thick batter. - Coat the Beans
Add the cooked beans to the batter, ensuring each bean is well coated. - Fry the Beans
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over high heat until hot.
Fry the beans one by one in the hot oil for 2–3 minutes, or until golden and crispy. - Drain and Serve
Remove the fried beans from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
These crispy fried giant beans are an irresistible snack or side dish, packed with flavor and a delightful crunch. The beer batter adds a light, airy coating that pairs perfectly with the tender beans inside. Serve them warm and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon. Bon appétit!
