Ingredients
- 1 kg beef, cut into portions
- 8 cleaned artichokes
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste or 4 ripe tomatoes, crushed
- 1/2 bunch parsley, finely chopped, or dill
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- Cinnamon
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a pot and sauté the beef on all sides until browned.
- Add the garlic, onions, and artichokes, and sauté them all together.
- Remove the artichokes and place them in a bowl; set them aside and add them back 30 minutes before the beef finishes cooking.
- To the beef, add the tomatoes, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika, cinnamon, and enough water to cover the meat. Cover the pot and simmer until the beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before the beef is done, return the artichokes to the pot and let them cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add a little more water during cooking if needed.
