Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil for the skillet
Instructions for the Dough
- Peel and slice the onions. Place them in a bowl, lightly salt them, and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, vinegar, and olive oil. Mix well.
- Create a well in the center of the mixture and gradually add water while kneading, until a dough forms that doesn’t stick to your hands.
- Just before finishing the kneading, add the sliced onions and continue kneading until they are fully incorporated into the dough.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Instructions for Cooking
- After 30 minutes, shape the dough into a round loaf.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over low heat.
- Place the dough in the skillet and use your hands to spread it evenly across the surface.
- Cover the skillet and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes on one side.
- To flip the bread, grease a flat plate with a bit of olive oil, slide the bread onto the plate, and flip it back into the skillet, as you would with an omelet.
- Cook for another 15 minutes with the skillet covered.
- Turn off the heat and let the bread rest for 10 minutes before serving.
