Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut into portions
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 8-10 mushrooms, sliced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 300g brown rice
  • 200g water for the chicken
  • 200g water for the rice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken and place it in a colander to drain.
  2. In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken and sauté on all sides until golden brown.
  4. Add the garlic and sauté together for another 2 minutes, then add the lemon juice.
  5. Pour in the water, add salt and pepper, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 45-50 minutes.
  6. If more water is needed during cooking, add a little as necessary.
  7. When the chicken is ready, remove it and place it in a bowl.
  8. In the remaining sauce in the pot, add water, rice, and mushrooms, and continue to cook for about 20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  9. Gradually add water to the rice as it cooks, and if more is needed, add as necessary.
