Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 300g brown rice
  • 200g water for the beef
  • 200g water for the rice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the beef thoroughly and let it drain.
  2. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the beef and sauté on all sides until browned.
  4. Add the garlic and carrot, sauté everything together for 2 minutes, then add the lemon juice.
  5. Next, add the water, salt, and pepper, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until the beef is tender.
  6. If more water is needed while it cooks, add a little as necessary.
  7. When the beef is ready, remove it and place it in a bowl.
  8. In the remaining sauce in the pot, add the rice and water, and continue to simmer for about 20 minutes until the rice is cooked.
  9. Add the water gradually to the rice, and if more is needed, add as necessary.
  10. Serve warm.
