Ingredients

  • 1 bonito, sliced
  • 3-4 tablespoons mustard
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Oregano
  • 80-90 ml water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  1. Clean the fish thoroughly, slice it, rinse well, and place it in a strainer to drain.
  2. In a wide pot, heat the olive oil and lightly sauté the fish on both sides.
  3. Add the garlic, sautéing it for about 1 minute, taking care not to let it burn and become bitter.
  4. Add the water, salt, paprika, and pepper, and simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Finally, add the mustard and let the sauce simmer for an additional 5 minutes to thicken. If more liquid is needed, add a bit of water.
  6. When the sauce reaches the desired consistency, add the oregano and turn off the heat.

Flavorful seafood melt

The tender bonito soaks up the tang of mustard and cream; subtle hints of garlic or onion whisper beneath bold flavor, bringing depth.
