Ingredients

  • 500 g aronia berries
  • 400 g brandy
  • 400 g sugar
  • 1 liter water
  • 4 cloves
  • Juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Berries:
    Wash the aronia berries thoroughly and place them in a pot.
  2. Simmer the Mixture:
    Add the water, cloves, sugar, and lemon juice to the pot. Bring to a boil over high heat and let it simmer for 1 hour, until the water absorbs the rich color of the berries. Remove from heat.
  3. Strain and Cool:
    Allow the mixture to cool completely. Strain it through a fine muslin cloth or cheesecloth, pressing well to extract all the juice from the berries.
  4. Add the Brandy:
    Once strained, mix in the brandy thoroughly. Pour the liqueur into sterilized glass bottles and seal them tightly.
