Ingredients for the Beef
- 1 kg beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 50 g white wine
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
Instructions for the Beef
- In a pot, heat the olive oil and butter together, then add the meat and sauté it on all sides until browned.
- Next, add the onion and sauté until it softens.
- Add the tomato paste, stir, and cook for 1 minute to release its flavors.
- Deglaze with the wine and let it simmer until the alcohol evaporates.
- Add just enough water to cover the meat. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and let it simmer on medium to low heat for about 1 hour until the meat is tender. Add water if needed.
- Avoid stirring the food with a spoon. Instead, gently shake the pot to prevent sticking.
Ingredients for the Rice
- 250 g brown rice
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 550 g water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions for the Rice
- In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter, and sauté the onion for 1 minute.
- Add the rice and stir briefly, then pour in the water, add salt, and let it simmer for 20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
- Once the rice is ready, you can add pepper if desired.
