Ingredients for the Beef

  • 1 kg beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 50 g white wine
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika

Instructions for the Beef

  1. In a pot, heat the olive oil and butter together, then add the meat and sauté it on all sides until browned.
  2. Next, add the onion and sauté until it softens.
  3. Add the tomato paste, stir, and cook for 1 minute to release its flavors.
  4. Deglaze with the wine and let it simmer until the alcohol evaporates.
  5. Add just enough water to cover the meat. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and let it simmer on medium to low heat for about 1 hour until the meat is tender. Add water if needed.
  6. Avoid stirring the food with a spoon. Instead, gently shake the pot to prevent sticking.

  • 250 g brown rice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 550 g water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions for the Rice

  1. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter, and sauté the onion for 1 minute.
  2. Add the rice and stir briefly, then pour in the water, add salt, and let it simmer for 20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Once the rice is ready, you can add pepper if desired.
