Ingredients
- 1 kg beef, cut into small pieces
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 4 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 50 g red wine
- 6 cloves (the spice)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- A pinch of oregano
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- 200 g water
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a wide pot over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic.
- Add the chopped meat, sauté briefly with the onions, season with salt, and deglaze with the wine.
- Next, add the tomatoes and sauté them along with the onion and meat for a few minutes.
- Finally, add all the spices, pour in the water, cover the pot, and simmer on low heat for 1 hour.
- Avoid stirring the food with a spoon; instead, gently shake the pot to prevent sticking. Add more water if needed.
Ingredients for the Mashed Potatoes
- 1 kg potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- Salt
- Pepper
- A pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into cubes.
- Place them in a pot, cover with water, and add salt.
- Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them. Add the milk, butter, pepper, nutmeg, and mix well until smooth.
