Ingredients
- 1 kg Swiss chard
- 1 bunch dill
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3-4 spring onions, finely chopped
- 100 g rice
- 200 g water
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
Instructions
- Prepare the Swiss Chard
- Place the Swiss chard in a bowl with water and a little vinegar for 5 minutes to remove any impurities or bugs. Wash thoroughly 4-5 times until completely clean. Bundle the chard together and cut it into pieces about 3-4 cm long.
- Sauté the Onions
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and spring onions, and sauté until softened and fragrant.
- Add the Swiss Chard
- Stir in the Swiss chard, mixing gently, and let it wilt in the pot.
- Cook with Rice
- Once the chard has wilted, add the water, rice, and salt. Stir continuously to prevent sticking. Gradually add more water if needed, ensuring that the dish doesn’t become overly watery.
- Season and Finish
- Ten minutes before the dish is fully cooked, add the dill, pepper, and sweet paprika. Stir well to blend the flavors and retain the fresh aroma of the herbs.
- Serve
- Once the rice is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed, remove from heat and serve warm.
