Ingredients
- 600 g sugar
- 600 g grape must
- 7 tablespoons cornstarch
- Juice of half a lemon
- 2 teaspoons rose water
- 1 sheet gelatin (10 g)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for coating)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine half of the grape must with the sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes to dissolve the sugar completely.
- In a bowl, dissolve the 7 tablespoons of cornstarch in the remaining grape must.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the hot syrup, stirring continuously.
- Meanwhile, soak the gelatin in cold water for about 5 minutes to soften. Drain well and add it to the saucepan.
- Add the rose water and lemon juice, stirring over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
- Once thickened, spread the mixture into a pan lined with parchment paper and let it cool at room temperature.
- When it’s completely cooled, cut into pieces and toss them in a mixture of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to prevent sticking.
