Preparation of the Patties
- Cook the Fava Beans
Place the fava beans in a pot, cover them with water, and boil over medium heat for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let them sit in the hot water for another 10 minutes. Drain them in a colander. - Prepare the Mixture
Mash the fava beans in a bowl using a potato masher. Add the flour, onion, garlic, tomato, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well until you have a firm dough that can be shaped without breaking. - Shape and Fry
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Meanwhile, shape the mixture into small patties, coat them lightly with flour, and place them on a plate. Once the oil is hot, fry the patties for 2 minutes on each side, just until golden brown.

- Sweet paprika
- 2 sprigs of basil, finely chopped

Heat olive oil in a pot. Sauté the onion, garlic, and tomatoes until softened. - Simmer the Sauce
Add the water, oregano, salt, pepper, paprika, and basil. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. - Combine the Patties with the Sauce
Carefully add the fava patties to the sauce. Reduce the heat to medium and let them simmer for 20-25 minutes until the sauce thickens.
