“Bloum” Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 500 g spaghetti
  • 3–4 ripe tomatoes, grated
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 600 g water
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Grated cheese for topping (optional)
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Once heated, add the onion and garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the grated tomatoes and sauté them for another 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the water and add salt. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil.
  5. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and stir continuously to prevent sticking.
  6. Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed, leaving a bit of sauce.
  7. If the spaghetti needs more water while cooking, add a little at a time.
  8. When ready, turn off the heat, season with pepper and sweet paprika, and stir gently.
  9. Serve warm, optionally topped with grated cheese.
