Ingredients
- 500 g spaghetti
- 3–4 ripe tomatoes, grated
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 600 g water
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- Grated cheese for topping (optional)
- Olive oil
Instructions
- In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Once heated, add the onion and garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the grated tomatoes and sauté them for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in the water and add salt. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the spaghetti and stir continuously to prevent sticking.
- Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed, leaving a bit of sauce.
- If the spaghetti needs more water while cooking, add a little at a time.
- When ready, turn off the heat, season with pepper and sweet paprika, and stir gently.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with grated cheese.
