Ingredients
- 1 medium mullet (bafa), cut into pieces
- 2 potatoes, quartered
- 1 carrot, sliced into rounds
- A handful of celery, chopped
- 2 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- A pinch of hot pepper (optional)
- 2 cups water
- Olive oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté all the vegetables, except for the tomatoes, for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper, sweet paprika, hot pepper (if using), and water to the pot.
- Simmer the stew for 15-20 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Add the fish pieces to the pot and continue to simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the stew thickens slightly.
- If needed, add a bit more water as it cooks to keep a light sauce consistency.
