Sunrise in a Wrap

Soft sesame pita filled with a fluffy omelette studded with mushrooms and bacon, wrapped up with crisp lettuce and a touch of mayo — this is the kind of wrap that turns a simple breakfast into something memorable.

Ingredients for the Dough

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 300 g water
  • 4 tbsp olive oil

Dough Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  2. Gradually add the water, kneading until you form a soft, non-sticky dough. Add more flour if needed.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  5. Divide the dough into 7 pieces, roll each piece into thin rounds with a rolling pin, and place them on the tray.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and press gently to stick.
  7. Preheat the oven to 190–200°C (375–390°F) and bake for about 15 minutes, depending on your oven and your preferred crispness.

  • 3 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 lettuce leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Preparation

  1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the mushrooms for about 2–3 minutes until they lose excess moisture.
  2. Add the chopped bacon and continue sautéing for another 2–3 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper, then pour them into the pan with the mushrooms and bacon.
  4. Cook the omelette on one side, then flip to cook the other side.
  5. Place the Arabic pita on a plate and spread the mayonnaise evenly on top.
  6. Add the omelette and lettuce leaves, then wrap the pita tightly.
