Ingredients
- 180 g all-purpose flour
- 260 g water
- 20 g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- Honey and cinnamon for topping
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
In a saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the flour and salt. Stir vigorously until a soft dough forms. Add the egg and mix until the ingredients are fully combined. Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a wide nozzle. If you don’t have a piping bag, use a spoon to form round shapes similar to doughnuts. - Heat the Oil:
Heat plenty of olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot. - Fry the Churros:
Pipe small pieces of dough into the hot oil or drop spoonfuls if using the alternative method. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. - Add the Toppings:
Arrange the churros on a plate and drizzle with honey. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
