Ingredients
- 500 g mixed seafood (mussels, shrimp, squid, octopus, crab meat)
- 250 g rice
- 550 ml water for the rice
- 50 ml water for the seafood
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2-3 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- Oregano
- Olive oil
Preparation for the Rice
- In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add one of the chopped onions and the carrot, and sauté until softened.
- Add the rice and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add the water and a pinch of salt.
- Cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes, until the rice absorbs all the liquid. For softer rice, add a bit more water and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Preparation for the Seafood
- In a separate pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the other chopped onion and the garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the tomatoes and sauté for another 2 minutes. Pour in the water and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the mixed seafood, pepper, sweet paprika, oregano, and salt. Cook for an additional 10 minutes. Add a little extra water if needed.
