Ingredients

  • 500 g mixed seafood (mussels, shrimp, squid, octopus, crab meat)
  • 250 g rice
  • 550 ml water for the rice
  • 50 ml water for the seafood
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2-3 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Oregano
  • Olive oil

Preparation for the Rice

  1. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add one of the chopped onions and the carrot, and sauté until softened.
  2. Add the rice and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add the water and a pinch of salt.
  3. Cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes, until the rice absorbs all the liquid. For softer rice, add a bit more water and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Preparation for the Seafood

  1. In a separate pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the other chopped onion and the garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the tomatoes and sauté for another 2 minutes. Pour in the water and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the mixed seafood, pepper, sweet paprika, oregano, and salt. Cook for an additional 10 minutes. Add a little extra water if needed.
