Ingredients for the Potatoes
- 7 medium potatoes
- 30 g butter
- 180 g flour
- Extra flour for dusting the patties
- 1 beaten egg

Ingredients for the Meat Filling
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 50 g water
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sweet paprika
- Oregano
- Olive oil
Instructions for the Meat Filling
- In a skillet, heat some olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic.
- Add the ground beef and continue to sauté until the meat changes color.
- Add the tomato paste, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and water, stirring well.
- Simmer until all the liquid is absorbed, then set aside.
Instructions for the Potatoes
- Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into pieces. Boil in salted water until very soft.
- Drain the potatoes, place them in a bowl, and mash until smooth.
- Add the butter, additional salt if needed, pepper, and the beaten egg, mixing well to combine.
- Gradually add the flour to the potato mixture, mixing until it is fully absorbed.
- Lightly flour your countertop. Take a spoonful of mashed potato mixture (about the size of two walnuts) and place it on the floured surface.
- Flatten the potato portion with your hands, then add a tablespoon of the meat filling to the center.
- Fold the potato mixture over the filling like a pouch and press gently to flatten into a patty.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- When the oil is hot, add the potato patties and fry on both sides until golden brown.
