Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of sandwich bread
  • 2 slices of turkey
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • A small amount of butter for spreading
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • A pinch of salt for the egg
  • 4 toothpicks

Instructions:

  1. Flatten the Bread:
    Use a rolling pin or a clean bottle to press the sandwich bread slices until they are very thin.
  2. Assemble the Rolls:
    Spread a thin layer of butter on two slices of bread. Place one slice of cheese and one slice of turkey on each buttered slice, then cover with the remaining slices of bread.
  3. Roll and Secure:
    Carefully roll up each sandwich tightly, securing the ends with toothpicks.
  4. Prepare the Coating:
    In a bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt. Dip each roll into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake the Rolls:
    Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as they can burn easily.
