Ingredients
- 300g chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- ½ bunch parsley
- 1 onion
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ bunch cilantro
- ½ tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar with honey
- Salt
- Pepper
- 4-5 tbsp flour
- A little oil for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the Chickpeas:
- Soak the chickpeas in a bowl of water overnight.
- The next morning, drain the chickpeas and blend them in a food processor until smooth. Transfer to a bowl.
- Add Vegetables and Spices:
- Blend the onion, garlic, parsley, and cilantro until finely chopped, then add them to the chickpeas.
- Add the salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, baking soda, flour, cumin, and paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are combined into a uniform dough.
- Shape and Prepare:
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lightly grease it with oil.
- Shape the mixture into flat patties and place them on the tray. Use a brush to coat the top of each patty with a little oil.
- Bake the Falafel:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Bake the patties for 15 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Serve:
- Serve the falafel with lettuce, fresh vegetables, tomato, or any sides of your choice.
