Braised Beef with Wine & Pasta
Tender beef simmers slowly in tomato, garlic, and wine, kissed by sweet paprika and cinnamon, as pasta waits to embrace the rich sauce. In the center of this rustic dish, succulent meat melds with aromatic depth and soft pasta—offering warmth, comfort, and flavor that echoes home.
Ingredients
1.5 kg beef
500 g pasta
2 onions
4 ripe tomatoes
50 ml wine
2 garlic cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Sweet paprika
Instructions
In a pot, heat the olive oil and sauté the beef until browned on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside in a bowl. Next, sauté the finely chopped onions and garlic for one to two minutes, then add the tomatoes. Once everything starts to boil, add the beef back into the pot along with the cinnamon stick, salt, pepper, paprika, and finally the wine. Keep the pot uncovered until the alcohol evaporates. Then, cover the pot and simmer over medium heat for about an hour and a half, or until the beef is tender. Add water as needed during cooking.
For the Pasta
Fill a pot halfway with water, add salt, and cover until it boils. Once boiling, add the pasta and stir to prevent sticking. Cook for about 20 minutes, or until done to your liking. When ready, drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Instead of butter, try drizzling some heated olive oil over the pasta. The aroma of olive oil is truly unique.
Why It’s Irresistible
Each forkful carries juicy beef, velvety tomato sauce, and a hint of spice—a harmonious blend made richer by wine, softened by time.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot, with freshly chopped parsley and crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Ideal for cozy dinners or meals where comfort and richness are cherished.
