Ingredients
500 g ground beef
500 g pasta
2 onions
1 carrot
2 garlic cloves
4 ripe tomatoes
50 ml wine
1 cinnamon stick
Salt
Pepper
Sweet paprika
Olive oil
Kefalotyri cheese for topping
Instructions
In a pot, add 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Finely chop the onions and garlic, grate the carrot, and sauté them for two minutes. Then, add the ground beef and cook until it turns pale. Deglaze with the wine, then add the finely chopped tomatoes, cinnamon stick, salt, pepper, and paprika. Add just enough water to cover all ingredients. Let it simmer over medium heat for 40-45 minutes until the beef is tender. Keep an eye on the sauce, adding more water or salt if necessary. Once the sauce thickens, turn off the heat.
For the Pasta
Fill a pot halfway with salted water, cover, and bring to a boil. Add the pasta, stirring continuously to prevent sticking, and cook for about 20 minutes. When ready, drain the pasta, return it to the pot, and try tossing it with olive oil instead of butter. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a healthier option.
Serve the pasta with grated Kefalotyri cheese on top.
