Ingredients:
- 3 medium onions
- 1 large package cream cheese
- 200 g melting cheese
- 6 slices of bacon, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil for frying
For Breading:
- 100 g flour
- 4 eggs
- 50 g milk
- 100 g breadcrumbs
Instructions:
- Prepare the Onions:
Line a platter with parchment paper and set aside.
Peel and wash the onions.
Slice them in half, carefully separate the rings, and place them on the prepared platter. - Prepare the Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, melting cheese, salt, pepper, garlic, and chopped bacon. Mix well until fully blended. - Stuff the Onions:
Fill each onion ring with the prepared cheese mixture.
Place the stuffed onions back on the platter and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up. - Bread the Onions:
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs.
Dip each stuffed onion ring first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. - Fry the Onions:
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the breaded onion rings until golden brown and crispy on all sides. - Serve:
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil and serve warm.
