History
The Hurricane cocktail is a vibrant and fruity drink born in the lively streets of New Orleans during the 1940s. Created by Pat O’Brien, the owner of a bar in the French Quarter, the drink was named after the hurricane lamp-shaped glasses it was served in. Initially crafted as a way to use up an excess supply of rum during wartime shortages, the Hurricane quickly became a signature cocktail of the Crescent City.
