Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • Water, as needed to form the dough
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • White and black sesame seeds
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Tray
    • Grease a baking tray with olive oil and set it aside.
  2. Mix the Dough
    • In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and dry yeast. Mix well.
    • Create a well in the center and pour in the olive oil.
    • Gradually add water, kneading as you go, until you have a soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
  3. Let the Dough Rise
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  4. Shape the Breadsticks
    • Once the dough has risen, take small pieces and roll them into thin cords, shaping them to your desired length.
    • Lightly brush the breadsticks with olive oil and place them on the greased baking tray, leaving some space between each.
  5. Add Toppings and Proof Again
    • Sprinkle the breadsticks with white and black sesame seeds or other seeds of your choice.
    • Let them rest for another 30 minutes to rise slightly.
  6. Bake
    • Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
    • Bake the breadsticks for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
