Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples, peeled and cored
  • 600g sugar
  • 100ml water
  • Juice from 2 lemons

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly, peel and core them, then cut them into small pieces. Place them in a bowl with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Place the peels and cores in a cheesecloth bag (as they contain pectin) and tie it securely.
  3. In a pot, add the apple pieces, the cheesecloth bag, and the water. Boil for a short time until the apples begin to soften.
  4. Remove the cheesecloth bag and blend the apple pieces until smooth. Return the blended apples to the pot.
  5. Add the sugar and boil the mixture, stirring frequently, for 25-30 minutes until the jam thickens.
  6. Once the jam is ready, let it cool for about 10 minutes to stop the boiling process. Transfer it to sterilized jars while still warm.
